To our members new and old, I hope you enjoy browsing through our 2018 rally programme!

The Rally Sec job proved to be a challenging and busy role in 2017, trying to secure rallies for you all. We had to negotiate with venues, East Grinstead, other Centres and the Lake District National Park. And an all year round job too with having to submit planned rallies within the National Park back in June, way back before anyone was thinking about 2018!

But, hopefully the hard work has paid off and we have a varied enough programme to attract you all along to at least one rally through the year.

The rallies are a real mixed bag; some old venues being tried again, some small and friendly rallies (well, they're all friendly!) and the usual suspects hanging on in there. Things have been moved around a bit, we're trying to run them in conjunction with events in the area to keep your interest and attract new people.

Please remember, this is your centre and we rely on you to keep it going. If you fancy running a rally then there is always someone on hand to help, and there is a Rally Officers Guide available to guide you through. But if organising isn't your thing, then just getting out there and supporting the rallies is appreciated.

Please make sure you read each rally's details properly, each rally opens at a different time and some have specific requirements that must be adhered to.

So finally, please enjoy this years busy rally programme, and don't forget to keep up to date via our Facebook page. We live in a beautiful part of the world, lets get out there and explore what's on our doorstep.

Booking is now open; Happy Caravanning!

Bev Ramshaw
Rally Secretary

As part of the Centre’s succession planning we need to be on the lookout for new members to bring something fresh to the Committee and take up office.

If you are interested please speak to any Committee Member or contact our Secretary Sheila Jackson for more information.

Mr Sinclair Graham, Carlisle

Cumbria Centre website has been updated with our 2018 rallies (where did 2017 go?),

I hope that there are some rallies in here to entice you onto the rally field soon. Our Rally Secretary, Bev, has worked hard to create a programme which has a mixture of venues that are old favourites, ones that haven’t been used for a while and some that are totally new. There are venues in stunning locations, venues chosen to coincide with local events and venues for peace and quiet. Please support the rally officers and remember that early booking helps them with planning.

A very big thank you must go to Alan as he retires from his long-standing role as Centre Treasurer, although he is staying on committee where his wealth of knowledge is invaluable. A big welcome and thank you to Dan who is taking over the Treasurers’ role – please be gentle with him as he settles in!

My thanks go to all of the committee, rally officers and land-owners for their help and support over the past twelve months and for what they are going to do over the next twelve months.

During 2018 there will be a small amount of fundraising for my chosen charity, The Sunbeams Music Trust. This is a small local charity, based at Redhills near Penrith, providing music therapy for disabled and disadvantaged children and adults and dementia patients at their purpose built facility and venues throughout the County. You can click here to check out the Sunbeams website.  Please support any fundraising that may be on a rally you are attending. Donations for a tombola will be gratefully received.

During 2017 we welcomed quite a number of new ralliers to the Centre. I hope they all enjoyed the experience and that this trend continues into 2018.

Nigel and I look forward to meeting you on a rally field soon.

Nancy Moffat.
